ABOUT POVILAS

Hi,

I’m Povilas.

I’m just an ordinary guy with an unordinary purpose. Discovering your calling is a must in this world.

ABOUT POVILAS

“Direct all your energy towards your only work that matters to you.”
– Povilas Brand

I believe that deep inside your heart, you know there’s more to life. You want your life to matter and perhaps even leave a legacy behind.

Most people spend their whole time and energy on survival, like sleeping, eating and working, and then on distracting themselves from all the stress and challenges of trying to survive which is a paradox.

And what I mean by distraction is: eating too much, drinking alcohol, partying, gambling, being super busy, working hard, mindlessly watching TV, browsing the internet, and the list is endless!

Eventually, your life is going to run its full course, and then there will be only one question on your mind: ‘What have I done?’ However valid your excuses are, they won’t matter one jot when the day of reckoning finally arrives. Either you’ll achieve what you came here to do – or you’ll leave without finishing the job. Think about that! If it scares the hell out of you, that’s good.

My intuition says that there’s more to life. I believe that people are disconnected from themselves because they don’t tap into their full potential. They don’t know how to access it which would enable them to express themselves fully and live according to their life purpose.

If living up to your potential, listening to your heart and fulfilling your dream matters, then start your journey by finding out if you’re living according to your life purpose first.

Living with a life purpose is backed by science

1

Live Longer

According to research published in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science by Patrick L. Hill and Nicholas A. Turiano the purposeful individuals lived longer than their counterparts. Having a purpose in life appears to buffer against mortality risk across the adult years widely.
2

Have Less Stress

Ed Diener’s extensive research on the science of well-being has found that people with a strong sense of purpose are better able to handle the ups and downs of life. Purpose can offer a psychological buffer against obstacles—thus, a person with a strong sense of purpose remains satisfied with life even while experiencing a stressful day.
3

Have Better Relationships

In 2009, Richard Leider teamed up with Met Life to assess the purpose of over 1,000 adults. They found that those with a high sense of meaning in their lives spent more time and attention on their loved ones and communities. On the whole, people with purpose tend to be more engaged with their families, colleagues, and neighbors, enjoying more satisfying relationships as a result.
4

Naturally, Make Healthy Choices

In 2015, researchers found that Hungarian teenagers who reported having greater meaning in their lives were more likely to eat healthily and exercise more. It is supported by an extensive 2014 study of more than 7,000 Americans, which found that those purpose-driven people spent more time on preventive health care, they also spent less time in the hospital. When you feel that your existence matters, you have direction. You feel that what you do every day is important, and feel driven to behave in ways that allow you to work toward your goals.
